Weeku Eduq is a hybrid Congolese organization (profit and non-profit) whose vision is to strengthen education, both for young people and for the whole population, in order to stimulate young people’s taste for science, enhance the value of diplomas, and positively change people’s mentalities.

To achieve its aims, Weeku Eduq focuses on 2 main areas:

Partnerships with primary, secondary and nursery schools:

  • Weeku Eduq provides schools in need with common spaces for chemistry and biology practices (in 2023, at least 90% of secondary schools in the DRC do not biochemistry lab).
  • Weeku Eduq provides schools in need with common spaces to watch scientific videos (documentaries, reports, etc.) on various courses and the exhibition of scientific objects often learned only in theory (in 2023, supporting learning through videos is a very uncommon method in the DRC).
  • Weeku Eduq provides needy schools with shared workshops for practicing mechanics, electronics, electricity and other technical works.
  • Continous reflection on new ways to improve learning in schools

Awareness-raising, information, training:

  • Raising young people’s awareness of various themes included in the sustainable development goals (health, hygiene, the economy, the environment, etc.), mainly through posters designed to adorn the walls of classrooms in partner schools, and through social networks.
  • Identification of the essential knowledge lacking among the young population and the general population, and organization of training courses to increase knowledge on the targeted subjects.
  • Popularizing the messages of various partners, mainly NGOs and government bodies, to target populations
  • Identification of essential knowledge lacking among the general population, and organization of mass awareness campaigns.
